Ken Pattern (Canada) | Views from Indonesia

Ken Pattern’s lithograph “PURA, BANGLI” is a typical temple complex in the village of Bangli in central Bali. Balinese Hinduism is practised by the majority of the population of Bali. Thus there are many temples such as this one across the island. Bali is renowned for its highly developed arts, including traditional and modern dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalworking, and music.

The current price of this lithograph (unframed) is Canadian dollar $125 (circa 81 EUR).

This lithograph is surrounded in the art window by reproductions of other works that Ken Pattern recorded while living in Jakarta in the 1990s (you can find a selection here www.kenpattern.com/portfolio). For Pattern it was an important time as Jakarta was experiencing an economic boom and many changes in the skyline of Jakarta and way of life in that huge city.
